These 5 Jobs May Be Replaced by Robots Soon

Artificial Intelligence

Businesses talk about technology until it is time to talk about a job loss that is inevitable. The statement about robots taking up jobs has been one of the most skilled discussions of the 21st Century, with a very common question- What can a robot do that I can’t do

Technologies such as Artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics are helpful in some aspects of day to day job like filing and inputting data into systems, and they are regarded as posing a significant threat to people’s jobs. However, more superior roles like Nurses and Policemen could also soon to be taken over by robots, which can do a more ‘efficient’ job, such as diagnosing patients or catching criminals with facial recognition technology.

MEDICINE

For something as delicate as the human body, one would imagine that innovation and science would leave that anatomical knowledge to fellow humans and not robots too, but that’s what has happened. Medical robots started off with the ability to take in medical records, predict drugs for an existing condition and even try to diagnose a disease based on symptoms typed into its system. Today, we are at the point of surgical robots, which might mean that we aren’t so far away from fully automated hospitals and trained doctors only working to make robots smarter by lending their knowledge. It might take a while, but it will get to us.

BANKERS

Another highly administrative role in the public sector is a banker role. With the majority of a banker’s job role including data input or transferring data from one area to another, the ease of replacing workers with robots to complete day to day tasks is the future.

In banks, a robot can better collate and analyze data than a human banker by carrying out the task quicker and more efficiently. Some banks are incorporating the use of IBM to serve customers better and give them a better service and satisfaction. Using robots would enable banks to collate one view of a customer profile and what services they are using. By incorporating robots into banks will eliminate tedious tasks and give more time for larger tasks that require human input.

POSTAL WORKERS

Such a traditional job could also be axed with the introduction of drones. Becoming somewhat of a trend over the last couple of weeks, drones have been testing delivery of foods and consumer goods.

Furthermore, other tech giants such as Amazon and UPS have already invested in drone fleets to deliver their goods and services.

In some cases, simple day-to-day jobs could be a thing of the past for some workers and replace their role with robots instead. However, other areas may see their jobs replaced so that they can progress and develop their job role and skills further in the industry.

DATA ANALYSIS

It is the job of a Data Analyst to examine long strings of data, arrange them in a clean format, look for trends that fall within the trend of such data, and make predictions from that. Computers already do a lot of predictive analysis, it’s only a matter of time until they are taught the business aspect. In those big data worlds, everyone seems to believe we need more hands to handle the chunks of data we have available.

JOURNALISM

In the United States, the journalism industry has removed more than 20% of its journalists since 2001 and this is not stopping. If you thought it was impossible for AI to form coherent articles, then think again. The Associated Press, for example, uses AI to write its quarterly earnings reports – as many as 3,000 of them every three months.

The sad reality is, artificial intelligence can adapt to several industries – even those we thought required a skilled hand. The proof is in the pudding, with major metropolitan newspapers shutting their doors left, right, and center

  1. Hello superb website! Does running a blog such as this take a lot of work?
I have no expertise in programming however I had been hoping to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyway, if you have any suggestions or techniques for
new blog owners please share. I know this is off subject however I simply had to ask.
    Thanks a lot!
